A Scandinavian kitchen with an island and a touch of oak

We love how this kitchen shows how a muted, pastel look doesn't need to be boring, we think it looks stunning!

Kitchen Project Details

Our client was putting a big extension on the back of their home, along with some other internal renovations (we supplied the utility room too). They wanted a big, light, open-plan kitchen to fit in with these wider renovations. And they wanted an island too!

To create this Scandinavian-inspired kitchen, we used the Porter Matt from Second Nature in Dove Grey, as it is light but not too modern. The island had a solid oak, waterfall end worktop which gave a warm and classic feel.

The customer supplied their own brass handles, which adds an authentic personal charm.

We kept the design very simple but included full-height doors on the larder fridge freezer. The full height, matching splashback in Calacatta Aurum Quartz helps to enlarge the space without it feeling fussy. The marble-effect splashback keeps the hob area practical and easy to clean, whilst also being very easy on the eye.
