Two weeks or two years?
Seriously.
How’s it possible for two months of lockdown to feel like two minutes and two years at the same time?
However it feels like to you, I know we’re all looking forward to getting back on the tools!
During my few quieter moments, I’ve been reflecting on what I believe to be the top kitchen trends of 2020, and it looks like we’re set to pick up where we left off, which is excellent news.
So, here’s a bit of food for thought on what I’ve found popular so far this year.
The beginning of this year, we saw a high rise in demand for blue, green and charcoal kitchens.
Past perceptions of neutral themes being a necessity for a kitchen that will last the test of time have been abandoned by the realisation that everything has a sell-by date – so, they’re getting braver with their decisions.

Last year saw the embrace of two-tone cabinets (a personal fave of mine too) and this year striking comparisons are still high up on the agenda, in the form of bold coloured units teamed with a white worktop.
The rulebook has also been well and truly thrown out of the window when it comes to shelving.

Thanks to the growing love of Instagram and Pinterest, the organisation of pots, pans and (weirdly) pasta have never been more popular, especially having them on show.
Whether it’s glass cabinet doors or open rustic shelving, nothing is out of bounds when it comes to displaying your kitchen belongings.
And whilst we still wait to hear about when we can get back into the proper full swing of building beautiful kitchens together, we’re still working away on designs and plans.
